ABOUT the director

I discovered my late grandfather's WWII journal containing memories and photos of his time in the South Pacific. I wanted to learn more about his service and traveled across the US to interview his fellow airmen, finding eleven for an oral history documentary. The entire film is told in their own words, as these heroic Navy flyers recount their Naval Aviation tours off Guadalcanal Island and the USS Hornet. This experience has been unforgettable and my hope is to encourage more young people to document the stories of our veterans for future generations.

If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, be sure to visit the USS Hornet Museum honoring Carrier Air Group 11 and all those who served aboard her. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you'd like me to speak at your organization. The film is geared toward sparking interest and patriotism with personal stories of simple heroism.
